Empowering Young People to Protect Themselves and Each Other

At the Hope Well Institute, our BE SAFE program equips young people with the tools
and confidence to recognize when a friend or family member is struggling and take
action. This life-saving training provides essential first aid for those in emotional
crisis, following a research-driven, step-by-step approach.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Be Observant of changes in behavior or mood,
  • Enter into Conversation with care and compassion,
  • Show Respect by listening without judgment,
  • Ask about Suicide directly and sensitively,
  • Provide Friendly Support, and
  • Engage Trusted Help from an adult or agency when necessary.

Whether you’re supporting a friend or loved one, BE SAFE empowers you to offer hope, connect them to help, and make a meaningful difference in their time of need.
