In 2021 ASSAT (Aggregated Suicide Safety Assessment Tool) became the world’s first HI/AI powered tool that gave an ‘in real-time’ assessment of the strengths in an individual’s life that could be enhanced, along with highlighting the areas of a person’s life that needed to be fortified and strengthened so that when the storms of life come, as they inevitably do, the individual can stand strong and cope with a sense of hope.
ASSAT identifies and assesses psychological safety & risk individually, corporately and regionally by assessing the complex contributing protective and risk factors, in aggregate, to determine the impact they have on the lives of individuals, organisations, towns and nations.
ASSAT is the product of over 60 years knowledge and experience in suicide prevention and software development. ASSAT can be accessed on all digital and mobile devices.
Information is gathered through the completion of a survey using multiple choice questions and takes on average about 10 minutes to complete. It is anonymous and only de-identified information is kept.
The survey asks questions about a range of information including basic individual details and demographics; the personal relationships and social connections you have; how you view life; how you respond to and cope with challenges; and details about the community you live in.
On completion, findings are summarised visually in an Individual Characteristics report. The recommendations are presented under Individual pillars including Relationships, Hope, Gratitude, Mental Health, Help-Seeking & Coping and Suicide Thought; and Community pillars including Social Connection; Social Belonging; Community Cohesion; Social Hope; Basic Needs; and Cultural Safety and Comfort.
While this software and its report can have a significant impact on the lives of individuals the effect on larger groups is even greater. For an organisation, the vast amount of de-identified aggregated data collected from their employees or members, provides a near real-time assessment of the level of psychological safety of the group.
Once the aggregated group findings and recommendations have been received the community leaders, decision makers and clinical professionals are able to make much more informed decisions around necessary and desired psychological safety strategies, protocols and procedures.
